At Crossfit Westside, we offer group classes,  private coaching or semi-private coaching.  The way you get started will ultimately depend on your personal goals and your current level of fitness. Begin With Our Elements Classes

Our Elements Classes are designed for the generally active, injury free individual who wants to start training weekly in our classes. All new clients to Crossfit Westside start training in the ELEMENTS classes when they sign up as a member for 2x, 3x, or 4x classes a week. Each class is 60 minutes and is taught in a group format with 2 Coaches on the floor. The class includes a warm up, a technical portion, (which explains one of the 9 Basic Crossfit Fundamental movements), as well as a short Crossfit Workout. Most of our clients stay in the Elements Classes for the first month of training and then, with their coaches help, decide when they will move into our regular Crossfit Classes.

Begin With a CrossFit Basics Workshop

Our CrossFit Basics Workshops are designed for individuals who are active and want ultimately to start training in our Regular Group Crossfit Classes. This workshop exposes you to the 9 Basic Movements in 2 short weeks. Movement techniques will be drilled as well as a progressive introduction to the intensity levels that are inherent in our regular group classes. The CrossFit Basics series meet 4 times a week for 2 consecutive weeks. Please note, if you have pre-existing injuries or are deconditioned, we suggest you get started with private coaching sessions or the Elements Classes above. You may be required to do more Elements Classes before moving into our fast-paced group classes. Price: $150.

Begin With Private Coaching-3 Session Starter Package

If you would like a more personalized program, cannot find time to attend any of our Element group classes or a Basic Workshop, or are de-conditioned and just getting back into shape, then Private Coaching is a great place to start? We do offer a Introduction to CrossFit series, which is a 3-session private coaching or semi-private coaching session with one of our CFWS Coaches. During your private coaching sessions, you will work with your coach to build your general fitness base and gain familiarity with our 9 basic movements. You will find the greatest success starting CrossFit with private coaching if your needs or goals include:

  • weight loss and improved body composition
  • extra accountability
  • you have generally been sedentary
  • you are new to exercise
  • you are pregnant or have just had a child

Your coach will tailor workouts specifically for your current fitness level and progress you at the proper pace for you. Please note, if you have pre-existing injuries or are deconditioned, additional private coaching sessions may be required before moving into our fast-paced group classes. Price: $225.

Not sure if Crossfit is for you? Our DEMO session is a complimentary one-on-one training session. In this session, you will learn more about our program and you will actually get to experience a Crossfit workout for yourself. The purpose of this session is to allow us to get to know you, what your goals and expectations are, and your fitness level experience. This session will also allow you to see if Crossfit is a right fit for you.

Move Into a Regular Crossfit Class

Once you have completed a month of Elements Classes, a CrossFit Basics Workshop or a Private Coaching CrossFit Introduction Series and assuming our coaches think you are ready, you may purchase a membership and join our regularly scheduled group classes. Please ask us for more details.

Crossfit Group Classes

This is where your training enters the realm of sport and the competition begins. Classes are intense, challenging, and move quickly. Workouts are generally 40-60 minutes and have 3 main components:

  • Warm up / stretching
  • Skill development
  • Athletic workout

We use weights, do bodyweight exercise combined with running, rowing, and jump roping. Movements are all functional and every workout is different.
